HOURGLASS AMBiENT LiGHTiNG POWDER

I am not a big fan of matte-fying powder or powder generally. When I heard about Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder, I am really hesitant to join the fanatic bandwagon. But then each time a saw a video or read an article about how lovely it is, I am starting to get swayed into buying it. Hourglass has 6 colours to choose from for its Ambient Lighting Powder. The idea is that its lighting colour to help you with your needs, from highlighting to concealing. The powder will works of how light will reflect to your skin. Seriously, this Lighting Powder involves a lot of science and genius whilst they are making this.

TRAVEL DiARiES: Jardin du Versailles

Last summer, despite the heatwave, I visited France. One of the highlights of my sojourn is my visit to Versailles. There is something in it that makes it so special. Maybe its history, the gardens, the fountains or the chateau combined that makes it so captivating. The chateau and the garden covers 800 hectares approximately. Wondering how I managed to see almost all of it? I just rented a golf cart inside the garden. It costs 30euros per hour if I am not mistaken. It is a ridiculous amount of money but it helps you a lot especially when the time that I visited it, the heat is scorching. The garden also has some alfresco dining experience in which the food are just delicious. Anyway, here are some photos that I managed to snap during our trip.

JAPONESQUE: LiP LACQUER

If you have been following my blog for quiet a while, you may know by now that I am obsessed with lip lacquers. The lip lacquer that I recently got is from the brand Japonesque. Japonesque has been around for 25 years but has been creating make-up accessories, like make-up brushes, only. Recently, I think the brand has a new owner and started to expand on cosmetics. I just recently discovered about the brand to be honest. I discovered it whilst browsing the internet and just caught my attention. The Japonesque Pro Performance Lip Lacquer retails exclusively in John Lewis.

GUEST POST: Naked Palette 3

Happy Christmas everyone! Today, I have a very special post for you. It is written by one of the loveliest lady I have known. Her name is Frederica but she is more well-known as @delicatewhimsy_ in instagram. Her make-up collection is to die for and her photos are gorgeous. I considered my self very lucky that she agreed to guest write for my blog. So, without further ado, here is her post.

WAHACA

Wahaca has been like one of my favourite restaurant. I discovered it a few months back and has been a regular since then. The Wahaca I often visit is situated in the The Street of Westfield Stratford. Wahaca offers Mexican Street style food. When you go inside the restaurant, it feels like you are transported to the streets of Mexico. Their tagline is Mexican Street Market. The decors has a Mexican side-street style. It is well organised but the interior is cheeky, quirky, and artistic. They said not to judge the book by its cover but when it comes to food, I always associate the look of the place to the taste of the food. I've been sold to Wahaca just by its interior self. It has a hippy vibe and you really feel like you are dining alfresco despite you are inside.

LUSH POPCORN LiP SCRUB

There has been plenty of posts lately about how to make DIY lip scrubs and I always put it in my To Do List but always fail to make one. So I was passing by Lush the other day and an idea pop in my mind. I can buy a lip scrub instead of making one. A great excuse for my laziness. At the moment, Lush has 4 flavoured lip scrubs each retailing £5.50. The flavours are Bubblegum, Mint Julips, Popcorn and the Christmas limited edition Santa Baby. I had a hard time choosing which should I have as all are lovely and tastes delicious. I ended with the Popcorn flavoured one.

BENEFiT EYE BRiGHT PENCiL

I am never a fan of eyeliner as I feel that it makes my eyes smaller. I am also never comfortable in wearing them. It feels like that when I am applying it, there is a big tendency that I will poke my eyes. It is also very uncomfortable for me that I will be left being tearful. I then discover that wearing a nudish shade of eyeliner enhance my brown eyes and makes it look wider and more awake. I feel terribly in love from then on with nude  eyeliners. So much that I love it that I endure all the discomfort and battle my slight fear for them. Haha. Looking for a good nude eyeliner, I then discovered the Benefit Eye Bright Pencil.

YSL LE TEiNT TOUCHE ECLAT

When I mustered my courage to try liquid foundation a few months ago, I take the advise of the pros which is to have your skin match for your correct shade. Before buying as well, I searched the internet high and low for one of the best foundation to use. As I am already a fan of the YSL Touche Eclat, I then decided that maybe YSL's new foundation which is the Le Teint Touche Eclat will be my first foundation. I then went into one of their counters and has been matched with my shade. From then on, I never looked back.

THE BALM Mary Lou Manizer

I have heard a lot of nice things about The Balm's Mary Lou Manizer. It is difficult to hold of as The Balm retails sparsely in the UK. I was searching where to buy it when I accidentally stumble upon Amazon where it can be delivered the next day. Without thinking twice, I bought it immediately (impulse buyer alert). I was very excited when it arrive, and oh boy, it did not disappoint.

PRiMER SERiES: MAC Skin Visage

I will start my primer series with Mac Prep and Prime Skin Visage as this is the first primer that I own. I got a sample of this, 2 or 3 years ago and fell in love with it and bought the full size after finishing it. This primer is silicone base and very smooth to apply. It has light reflecting particles that I can describe as eensy weensy glitters. These particles reflects light thus giving you a glow-y look after putting on the foundation. It doesn't look very glittery, don't worry. It gives the right amount of shine to achieve a perfect dewy look. As it has light reflecting particles, this primer is best to use with dewy finished foundation than matte ones.

FiRST of DECEMBER

At the beginning of this year, I started living on my own in a one bedroom flat and since then, all I could think of is how on earth am I going to put Christmas decors with the space that I have and the things that I already own. When November arrives, I started feeling depressed as I have to accept that a six feet Christmas tree will be no way possible to belong in my flat. Stubborn as I am, I would not settle for smaller Christmas trees. Then two weeks ago, I was food shopping in Marks and Spencer with the boyfriend when I saw their slim 6 feet tree. I swear, I could almost do cartwheels with happiness. I went home, measure the space that I have and went back to M&S to purchase the tree as its measurement perfectly fits my lounge. I then shop around for Christmas decors and found lovely stuffs both from M&S and Next. I decided that my Christmas decors will be gold-themed as I just adore them as of the moment. As I always believe, if there is a will, there is a way. Anyway, here are some decent photos of my decors that I manage to all put up since last night and this morning.

NOVEMBER FAVOURiTES

November, for me, is gone like a blink of the eye. Everything happens so fast but still it remains an awesome month. One month has passed since I started blogging and gained more than 2500 pageviews within a month. I know this is nothing for most of you but for a starting blogger like me, it means a lot. It feels like someone out there is appreciating or reading my thoughts and it feels amazing. Anyway, enough of my ramblings and here are the products that I've been loving throughout November.

FACE MASKS HEROES

As I am gifted with an amazing sensitive skin (sarcastic tone..haha), I learned to stop ranting about it and just trying to live with it whilst making sure that the appearance of blemishes are reduced to the minimum. To achieve this goal, I am always hyper-cautious of products to use on my naughty skin. So today, I am going to share with you the two face masks that has been an absolute saviour and heroes for my skin. Face masks that had been proven and tested through repeated usage.

MY LOVE FOR GiNGER

As I recently posted about the Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Hand Cream, you may know that I am currently hooked with ginger scents. Surprisingly, I received a parcel from my brother and what a joy that it contains the Origins Ginger For Two Gift Set. I was actually eyeing to buy the Origins Ginger Cloud Smoothing Body Balm but I was withholding my self as it is too expensive for a body moisturiser. These two are my first products from Origins as well. Anyway, the Ginger for Two contains a 125ml Ginger Souffle Whipped Body Cream and a 50ml Ginger Essence Sensuous Body Scent. The packaging is in a simple cream colour with light bronze details which makes it look chic and expensive.

CONFESSiONS OF A BEAUTY BLOGGER

I've got this tag whilst browsing the lovely blog of Lippylikes and decided that I will do this one as I love reading tags. So here are my guilty pleasures

LiP LACQUER

As I constantly rant about my dry lips, I am a fanatic of lip lacquers as they are not very drying to my lips. I love everything that feels light and jelly in my lips. It is in my psyche that anything that is not pure solid is moisturising for my lips. I've encountered the Estee Lauder's Pure Colour High Intensity Lip Laquer around a month ago and I never parted with them since then. They are just the best lip products for me.

GiNGER HAND CREAM

As December is coming, retail industries are now producing limited editions Christmas-y items which makes almost everyone to be in the festive mood. As the weather has turn very cold as well, moisturisers are also a big necessity. Hand creams is a must for me as my hands is dry most of the time. My favourite handcream as of the moment is the Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Hand Cream. This hand cream actually smells of Christmas. The scent is strong but not overpowering. It is a pleasant kind of zingy ginger smell which I think will please anyone's sense of smell. It is also very rich but is absorbed quickly by your skin. It also leaves your hand very smooth without the sticky feeling. I hate sticky moisturisers. It is limited edition so I hoarded already and it is also great to give as presents. It comes in a 30ml tube so it is small enough to be carried around. The packaging is also in an easy squeeze tube but does not leave any excess amount so it remains neat.  Despite its name that it is Ginger Sparkle, there is no glitter in the handcream which is also great beacuse I really do not want a glittery hand. I just love everything about this product.

As I like the texture and the smell of this hand cream, I am really tempted to buy the other products in this range as well. Till' next time.

MAC HiGHLiTERS

I am a sort of person who prefers dewy look than matte ones so it is not a surprise that I am crazy over highlighters. And to be honest, make up caught my attention very recently. As recent as two to three months ago so there's a lot of tendencies that my preferences will change. Anyhow, my favourite highlighters are from Mac as the quality are really good and will not hurt my bank balance that much.

FALL/WiNTER ESSENTiALS

As autumn has finally arrived and winter is just looming over the corners, here are my essentials to keep me warm during our long cold months:

BEANiE and WOOL HAT- I love my beanie and I got it very cheap from primark. I love its dark cherry colour and big pompom at the end. It is also thick so its doing its job to keep my head warm. Honestly, I've been wearing it almost everytime I am out. As for my wool hat, I got it from Marks and Spencer. Whilst going to their food section, I happened to pass this hat and I feel inlove once I tried it. Its navy blue in color with black leather ribbon at the centre whic makes the style sort of YSL-ic. I have a blue coat from topshop which is the exact shade of the hat, so it is a heaven sent really :)

CLiNiQUE BLACK HONEY

This black honey gift set was purchased a few days back on an impulse and was lying untouched in my bag. I think my brain just want to forget about it due to the guilt of spending money again when I just want to save for Christmas. Anyway, so much for guilt tripping, I found it last night and what a joy it gives me. Its like finding an unexpected present. Haha The black honey gift set comes with the full size black honey almost lipstick, 5 ml nail lacquer, lip balm and  sample size mascara.

ROSE GOLD

There is something about the rose gold colour that makes it so pleasant to the eyes. I think it has an understated glamour and classiness. I also considered it as one of my favourite colour or maybe it is my favourite afterall.

I purchased some rose gold things for the holiday season just because I fancy them and for no other reason (silly me). The first one that I got is a Ted Baker wash bag. Unlike the other Ted Baker washbags, this one is more elongated so those long make-up brushes will surely fit. It also has a nice ribbon but the difference with the rest of the Ted Baker's ones is that it has pretty gold rose studs on it. It also has a gold rose lining inside and the zip is also rose gold. I think it is just so pretty. Personally, I will use it as a clutch bag for parties and night outs as well. I got this from one of their pop booths in Westfield. If you like this one, buy it very quickly since it is running out of stock instore and online.

STiLA iN THE GARDEN PALETTE

A confident woman knows her inner beauty will captivate you, and her eyes will mesmerize you- Sarah Lucero

I was looking for some new eyeshadows and was searching high and low for the perfect ones. I came across with the Stila ones and I know that its In The Light Palette has been hyped the past few months. But I don't want to get that palette because to be honest, I have so many nude eyeshadows. I then saw the In The Garden Palette. I think my timing is wrong in buying this palette since I thought the eyeshadows are too springy or summery. How wrong I was. It is so lovely. I think its a year round eyeshadow palette.

ESSiE WiNTER 2013 COLLECTiON

I confess that I am a fanatic of the Essie nail polishes. I religiously buy their nail polishes and is always excited for their collections for every season. But as I looked at my nail polishes collection,I realised that I have way too many. Because of this, these days, I always stay away from the Essie counter. But today is a different day, I made up hundreds of excuses just to go to their counter and succumb to buy one bottle only. As I was looking, I saw this gorgeous pack of three miniature bottles for their winter collection and I swear I did not even hesitate to buy it. What I like about it I think it is more reasonable for me to buy miniature ones which are 5mls each than the full bottle as I can surely finish them.

SUGAR CRUSH

I first discover the Soap and Glory Sugar Crush last summer and bought the body buttercream. During that time, the smell of it is just to heavy for me because it is summer and I always associate summer with light florally smell. As the days turn colder and my skin is getting drier each day (ugghh) I decided to give it a try and taddahhh, I fell head over heels inlove with it. So much that I love it that I bought the body wash as well.

The smell of the sugar crush is a distinctive lime with so much sweetness in it. I feel like that if I use it in the mornings, the lime scent makes me feel like i'm so re energised. Due to its sweetness, is is perfect as well for night time use. Actually, I'm just looking for any excuses to use anytime of the day as the smell is so addicting as it is.

OCTOBER FAVOURiTES

November has arrived and I was determined to do monthly favourites so here are the products that made it to my October top list:

Mac Candy Yum Yum- I hate matte lipstick but I just couldn't resist its colour. I know its too bright for autumn/winter but you can still get away with it during nights outs with subtle smokey eye. Or if you are like me who likes bold colour on your lips, this lipstick is also perfect for everyday wear. But remember, its matte so thus who dislikes dry feeling on their lips my advice is to avoid this :)

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser Oil Free

I was scouring the beauty section of John Lewis the other day and I stumble upon the Laura Mercier Counter. Crucify me, but I was never a fan of this brand before. Was is an operative word. I actually was looking for a moisturiser since the weather has turn cold therefore a good moisturiser is needed or else my skin will just flake to death. I stumble upon their range of tinted moisturisers and I was immediately sold to their product because of the word oil free. I have a combination skin according to beauty experts and when I use moisturiser, my T-zone will just be an area of so much oiliness so an oil-free product is a heaven sent. Aside from it is oil-free, it also has spf 20 which is a double wow for me. I was then matched by the  lovely counter lady and I settled to the shade blush which is perfect for me.
