During Christmas period, like many other beauty aficionados, I wait with baited breathe as to what the beauty brands will offer. I am a sucker for limited edition beauty releases and I think that the Holiday Season has the best releases. I don't really buy all the beauty releases, I am not that mad, but I want to buy what I have been seriously lusting over. I have get hold already of the Tarte Blush Palette Holiday 2015 and another beautiful palette has been recently added to my arsenal.
Every year, Clarins released an eyeshadow palette which is named The Essentials. Although it is released every year, the shades varies each year. As I'd tried last year's palette and I was beyond impressed, I am really excited to what Clarins has to offer for this year. The Clarins The Essential Palette comes in a sturdy cardboard packaging like the previous year although the packaging design is different. The cardboard is very sturdy as my old one still looks as new even I took with me on some of my travels. The idea behind the cardboard packaging is that Clarins aims for this palette to be eco-friendly and re-usable.
The Clarins The Essentials 2015 Eyeshadow Palette boasts ten shades of eyeshadows in it. The shade range varies from neutrals, with pinks, champagnes, golds, taupes, browns, and puprles. I find that the shades range is quiet diverse which gains a thumbs up from as me as it means the palette is more versatile. The finishes varies from mattes, shimmery, duochrome, and one gold pressed pigment. The eyeshadows can be used wet or dry but I am not making the same mistake as last year and I will be sticking to using it as dry eyeshadows. The quality is good when you used it either wet or dry but what I find with my previous The Essentials 2014 Palette, once you wet it several times, some areas of the eyeshadow can get really hard so I am not even going to try that with this palette as I want this to last.
The eyeshadows from The Essentials Palette are all soft and buttery except for the gold pressed pigment which will never be soft and buttery no matter what the brand is. The gold pressed piment eyeshadow is so pretty when you pat it on top of your eyeshadow. It is never too yellow of a gold and just looks pretty on the eyelids. It is also not as messy as any other pressed pigments that I tried. The rest of the eyeshadows have very minimal fall-out noted that there's almost none. Without primer, the eyeshadows last for more than seven hours which I think is really impressive.
If you are looking for a nude palette with more diverse colour shades, the Clarins The Essentials 2015 Eyeshadow Palette is the best there is at the moment. Also, Clarins pledges to plant one tree for every purchase of this palette to the Amazonian rainforest which I think is a very good cause.

The eyeshadows has no name so I just put the numbers according to their placement in the palette. The first shade is not very visible as it is very light and perfect for inner corner highlights. |

ReplyDeleteThe palette is so versatile when it comes to shade range Hailey! Xx
DeleteI totally don't mind the cardboard packaging but some people really have an issue but I love anything that has the environment etc in mind, very beautiful shades I think I can blame my eyeshadow obsession on you as I never even used to wear it ;) xxxx
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm sorry if I tempt you into eyeshadows but you are so good with your eye make ups Jess! Xx
DeleteI am always wary of cardboard packaging to be honest but I am willing to change my view if the reason is for the palette to be more eco friendly. It is good to see a big brand looking after the environment.
ReplyDeleteAnd Clarins plants one tree for each palette bought Athena which really impressed me. Xx
DeleteI agree that some of the best beauty purchases can be made during the festive season - especially as most of the beauty releases have drop dead gorgeous packaging alone haha! I'm a huge fan of Clarins and any of their natural-appearing cosmetics, so needless to say the brown earthy shades have really caught my eye :)
