CHANEL PERFECTiON LUMiERE VELVET

Chanel-Perfection-Lumiere-Velvet-Review

I don't usually get too excited with new foundation releases but the Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet happened. When I saw the press release that it will be launch this April, I almost hyperventilate with excitement and set an alarm for it. Yes, I am that excited. I am also not very fond of matte finish foundations but I am making an exception for this beauty as it has a velvet finish.

The Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet is bottled in a black square bottle. I find that very chic and sleek to be honest. The packaging prettily caught my attention. It reminds me of an elegant black dress. On application, it glides on very easily. On the instruction it comes with, it is stated that it should be applied with your fingers but I still applied with a brush. Rebel! It works just fine with a brush really. The foundation just glides on the skin very easily. It blends so easily as well. It is so beautiful to look at and as what Chanel promised, it feels like natural skin. It has a matte velvety finish. It feels lightweight to almost nothing on your skin but offers a medium coverage which is also buildable.

The Perfection Lumiere Velvet has 6 shades to choose from. Not a very wide shade range but I luckily find the right match for me. The foundation is fragranced and I, for a fact, always had breakouts or rashes if any fragranced cosmetics comes in contact with my face. Using my usual primers before applying the Perfection Lumiere Velvet, I haven't got any breakouts or rashes to my huge relief. I have been using this foundation daily for over a week now and no breakouts or rashes appeared. Because of that, I'm loving it more each day, mushy as it sound. This Chanel foundation also has an SPF15. It is retailing at £33 for a 30ml bottle. Quiet expensive, I know, but I think with its quality it is really worth it.

The Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet foundation has exceeded my expectation. A point to ponder, it is quiet expensive. If you have the money and want to treat yourself, then I can highly recommend to splurge on it. If you are on a budget, don't worry to much as there are other foundations in the market that deliver the same finish (though not exactly of the same quality) but on lower price range. Till' next time :)

  1. I really want to treat myself to this one, but I'm a bit worry as my skin is super sensitive and acne prone and don't love anything highly fragranced. Have to ask a sample before buying this time!

    1. I also have sensitive skin and I think primers are goid to avoid breakouts when you will use this foundation. Asking a sample is also a good idea so that you can try it first and decide afterwards. Xx
