During the launch of the Clinique Soft Matte Lipstick, I was not overly excited as I am not the biggest fan of matte lipsticks. However, when I saw the colour range of it, my heart skipped a beat. The colour range is gorgeous and there are some lovely bold colours. I love my lipsticks bold most of the time so that makes me lust after these lipsticks. Then, Clinique claims that their new formula of matte lipsticks are non-drying to the lips. That really got my full attention and curiosity. Who wouldn't want a matte lipstick that is moisturising at the same time?
The Clique Soft Matte Lipsticks* are packaged in a silver, ribbed tube. It is not the most luxurious packaging out there but is surely different from mostly gold and black packaging. The packaging is beautifully unique as it is and looks sturdy enough. On application, despite that it is describe as matte, it is leaning towards velvet in finish in which I really love. It is not drying to the lips to my huge relief. It is creamy and comfortable when worn. The colour pay-off is really good and one to two applications of it and you are done. It lasts really well staying for more than 6 hours before it fades. When it starts to fade, it fades beautifully and doesn’t turn patchy to the lips. The colours are quite bold but as they are matte, the shades are more muted making it easy to pull off and wearable. The Clinique team had developed the Soft Matte Lipstick formula for three years and I just want to say kudos to them as they did achieved the matte but moisturising formula of a lipstick.
The Clinique Soft Matte Lipstick has already persuaded me to
try matte lipsticks out there. If you are a bit wary of matte lipsticks drying
your lips or you are just like me whose lips don’t agree with matte lip
products but you still want to try matte lipsticks, the Clinique Soft Matte Lipsticks
